Food Spotlight: Barry Norman Premium Pickled Onions
British film critic, writer and media personality Barry Norman is celebrating a great milestone. He's celebrating the 10th anniversary of the launch of his range of Premium Hot & Spicy Pickled Onions.
Barry's pickled onions are made from a 130 year old family recipe that has been handed down through the generations. The onions are gently cooked with malt vinegar, brown sugar, salt and a secret blend of spices to create crisp, luscious, sweet and spicy onions.
I love eating pickled onions and my husband does too. We eat them often. However, we had never tried Barry's delicious onions before. We tried them recently and we were delighted! These sweet, spicy, crunchy onions can be enjoyed in a variety of ways. My husband and I usually have them with cheese, olives and crackers or cheese and bread rolls.
Pickled onions are so versatile, therefore they can be easily chopped up and sprinkled into spaghetti or added to salads. There are so many ways to enjoy them. These fantastic spicy pickled onions are a new fave for sure. I love spicy foods, so these are right up my alley.
Barry Norman Premium Hot & Spicy Pickled Onions are available at Waitrose, Tesco or Ocado (RSP £2.40 - 280g) and are easy to spot - just look for the clapper-board on the jar!
