I can relate to the feeling of talents being bottled up. That's how I feel sometimes, but I'm trying to let more out. I take comfort in hearing that a lady like yourself has wrestled with this too. It gives me lots of encouragement :) I am like you in that I am looking within more and rediscovering what I love and what I want to make a part of my life. Thanks for shining the light on your life :)

And definitely, whenever you and your husband can get over here, I would love to show you around. It would be my pleasure :) Let me know when you're headed this way.Dorihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10246435607019061325noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7608541820636776582.post-71548818375309514612009-01-22T12:56:00.000+00:002009-01-22T12:56:00.000+00:00Dori,You are not alone. I had been wandering through life with my talents still bottled up inside. Personally, I was clueless when it came to what contributions I wanted to make in this life. But by meeting up with him, things began to fall in place.

This wasn't an easy transition for me, but I grew tremendously from my experiences. I had to distance myself from a few people who were not good for my spirit, and it hurt. In the end, it was the best thing for me.

So now that my husband and I have walked all this way together...15 years, I'm ready to rediscover what else may be lurking around the corner for me once I find the courage to let a few fears go.

Thanks for your post. BTW, I would love to see the show that had you and your husband so hooked.

We've done a bit of traveling over the years, but never to your neck of the woods...smile...but when we land on your soil, I'm confident that you can show us all the best places to hang out. :-)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7608541820636776582.post-27944872421668422362009-01-19T16:12:00.000+00:002009-01-19T16:12:00.000+00:00Thanks for your wise insight Mountain Woman. You start to feel comfortable in your own skin and have an idea about where you want to go and yes, usually you change directions.
I'm so glad you are feeling more like your old self or even a new, improved self.
There's nothing better than when that light finally comes on after facing so many challenges.
I look forward to spending 2009 with you.The Silver Age Sarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01135538968544231161noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7608541820636776582.post-72314680073705613032009-01-08T18:49:00.000+00:002009-01-08T18:49:00.000+00:00Courtney,It was great. It was a situation where you see something at just the time you need to. And so true, we should always follow our dreams :)

Kerstin,
We have traveled a similar path and as you wrote, the feelings are very much the same. It shakes you up doesn't it? But yeah, I'm finding my feet now and I hope that things are going well for you. Happy New Year! :)

Jewelry Rockstar,
You're right, blogging is very therapeutic. And I do agree that we get to points in our lives where we remember that life is short and we need to do our thing. Thanks for the support :)

Mikaela,
Thanks for the support and I'm glad you enjoyed my post. I also wish you all the best on your journey and I will continue to follow yours too :)

Renee,
I'm glad you liked my post. It was a great show...it just hit at the exactly right time :) Maybe they will show it over in the States eventually. I used to catch shows like this from here on cable back there. It's called "Life Begins Again". It was a breath of fresh air. It's so true, it is great when we let go and move with the spirit. It's like life is waiting :)Dorihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10246435607019061325noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7608541820636776582.post-50172726189468963422009-01-08T17:46:00.000+00:002009-01-08T17:46:00.000+00:00This is a wonderful post Dori. My experience of uprooting my life and moving across the Atlantic (from the UK to the US) has been quite similar to yours, as far as those feelings are concerned.

So glad that you are feeling more at home now; even though I am not British (I am German) I lived in England for 15 years and still miss it very much.

Happy New Year!

KerstinKerstinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10684657181509439771noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7608541820636776582.post-71558359843869694362009-01-05T21:41:00.000+00:002009-01-05T21:41:00.000+00:00That sounds like a really interesting show Dori. ...That sounds like a really interesting show Dori.
