Hair Bands That Go Pop

We had a good weekend around the Yellow House. We went into town on Saturday and picked up a few things and the rest of the time we just hung out around home. We got a connection upgrade for our television upstairs, so we were enamored with our new equipment. Brit Boy is the techie in our house, so he will blog about it later with photos. I’m so glad that now I can watch my Rosemary & Thyme upstairs while he watches his football/soccer downstairs. Yippee!! :-) I love this show. It's no longer being made, but I really enjoy the repeats.

In other news, over the weekend one of my favorite hair bands snapped. I have two but this one was my favorite. I know it sounds silly, but when you’re like me and love to just sweep your hair back and up so you don’t have to deal with it, a hair band is your best friend. LOL. I was fully into my sweeping back and banding when it all went **POP***… It really did make that sound ;-)

Here’s a photo of the other hair band on my head. I don’t know why I took a photo of it in the past, but I guess it was true love when I first bought them. LOL. Anyway, here’s the one that still survives.

And here’s the one that bit the dust ;-)

Anyway, no biggie, I guess it’s time to go get another one as a backup. Should be fun :-)

Wow - the hairbands look so good on you! Probably because you have a bit of body in your hair - mine is too flat for my liking.

I so empathise with the sound of hair bands popping... horrible sound indeed.

Yay for two TV connections - we also have two.

Love those hair bands, but my hair is too thick for them. I've popped quite a few in my time too:)

Your headband is really pretty. I know exactly what you mean. I get super attached to certain little things and when the break, it's like someone stole my heart. :)

Sorry for your loss..they are lovely! can you fix it?

I long for the day when I can watch what I want and the hubby can do the same *sigh*.

I know about those headbands -- I've always liked long hair but detest when it gets in my face and eyes. Back home CVS was my friend I could find any and all hair 'gadgets' in there.

I just finished reading a book about the hair bands of the '80s. So you can imagine what I was expecting when I saw your post title...

Your post made me realize how stuck in the 80s I actually am. When I read your headline, I thought you were referring to 80s hair bands (the singers with the big hair). I have had hair bands pop on me too and I find it extremely frustrating. I feel like I have put so much work into it to have nothing happen.

I have broken many hairbands because my head's a little too big. hahaha....

Gives us excuse to shop for new ones, eh?

Yesterday my niece broke her favorite headband - your post came to mind - we were able to salvage it with some very thing guage silver wire - pulled the wrapped ribbon at the end off, tightly wound the elastic to the botton of the headband and re-wrapped the ribbon - it worked! Good thing I your post got me thinking ;)

Destrella,
Thanks! :-)

Le Chateau des fleurs,
Thanks for visiting me and following too! Looking forward to knowing you more too :)

Emm,
Thanks for the sweet compliment :) And yeah, I jumped when it popped. LOL. Aren't the two connections the greatest?! :)

Mike,
When something breaks here I just call for Brit Boy...LOL! :)

Patrice,
Yeah, see that's the thing...I think my hair is too darned thick for them, but I keep on trying :) I'm a glutton for hair band punishment ;-)

Lisa,
Thanks! Exactly, it's funny how some things just get to be so treasured :)

Simone,
So glad you like them :) I couldn't fix it, but I may get all inventive and find a way to use it to tie a pony tail. We shall see :) And wow, I need you here to fix mine...that's so impressive!

Kicha,
I hear you on the tv dear :) It's like a whole new world on Saturday afternoons. He has his football and I can watch my movies. I hope you get this opportunity soon. And yes, the long hair has to be kept in check :) Ooh, isn't CVS great!

Susan,
Your comment gave me a chuckle :) I read the title back and had to laugh at my choice of words for the title.

Anne,
I love that you thought the same thing as Susan :) The hair bands of the 80s were something else and I guess all of us who came of age then had a strong mark of them on our subconscious. Poison,Skid Row, and Bon Jovi are all coming to my mind again ;-) And yes, just when you think you've got your hair done, the band goes POP!

EastCoastLife,
LOL. I can relate to that too. Some of them don't have much give. And absolutely, shopping is always good :-)

AJgallion,
So glad you like them. Oh yeah, I'm ready for summer :)
