Janet's Hair and My Many Options

Over the past fews days I've been seeing lots of photos online of Janet Jackson with her hair in a new short style. She's been in London promoting her movie, "Why Did I Get Married Too?". I just wanted to say, I think that Janet always looks beautiful and I LOVE her new look! :-)

I'm a big fan of short hair, especially for summer. I think that she looks so radiant. She is a beautiful woman and she wears this new style well!

Seeing her sporting her new look has me thinking once again about going short with my hair. I'm not a serial celebrity copier or anything, by any stretch of the imagination, it's just that seeing her once again reminded me of what I loved about having my hair cut short. You can just get up and go! LOL. The freedom of it is truly freeing.

For a great portion of my life, I've always worn my hair long, but at different times in my life, I've dipped my toe into the short hair pool for a change of pace and to just simplify things.

When I first moved over here to England four years ago, I had very short hair that I had been sporting for a few years at that point. For a while I would trim it myself, but that got tiring. Since I couldn't find any place close by to get it cut, I just let it do its growing thing ;-) Now it's shoulder length and I trim the ends periodically.

Lately, way before I saw Janet's new look, I've been toying with the idea of going short again. Who knows? Maybe I'll take the leap again :-) Or maybe I'll keep it as it is. I'm not indecisive at all...LOL. I just love thinking about the possibilities. I think that I'm on the verge of a personal shift of sorts, so I want my hair to reflect that shift. When I decide which way to go with my hair it will probably be on the spur of the moment and maybe that's the way it's supposed to be :-) Freedom to me is just going with the moment...so that's what I'll do.

After all, life is about having fun and hey, it's only hair...it'll grow back ;-)

Have a great day wherever you are! :-)

I think Janet is beautiful with long hair as well as short hair and it is so nice for us, women, to change our look from time to time..... Have a lovely week Dori! Nieves

ahhhhh styles and faces. Janet does look great with short hair. I've heard that it takes weight off your body when you shorten your hair. I believe that. are you thinking of going Janet Short ? you know that's a modified mohawk right ? look at Kelis and her fauxhawk - too cute. spiky and then smoothed off the face to showcase your cute features.

Yes Dori you could wear it well.

I love her new do as well. Hmmmm...short hair. It was a spare of a moment for me about ten years ago. I only grew them out for my wedding. Love it short :)
Hugs,
I.

Go for it! Hair grows back and the freedom of cutting your hair (I always cut my hair when I am mourning or letting go)often creates an energy that welcomes change - or you can do what some of my aunties so - buy a short wig and sport it for a while ;)...

"hey, it's only hair...it'll grow back "

It took me years to embody that thought!! lol When I finally did, I cut mine to about 3 inches all over and worked a textured, curly do. What a difference, not only in how much less maintenance is involved, but it also seemed like a whole new set of guys were now looking my way! lol!

Don't sweat going short, ladies.
We always think of hair as being the ultimate in femininity, but I learned that many of the gents out there might disagree! ;)

My hair grows very fast and I most often don't have the time or money for a cut. So it is long a lot of the time. But whenever I get it cut, I go short! It can always grow back and it is so easy to care for.

The short hair suits Janet Jackson very well. She looks sleek and sophisticated.
I had my hair very short years ago, but I like to wear it long now!

Diane,
Yes, it really looks good on her :)

Alicia,
Yep, she definitely wears it well :)

Nieves,
You're right...Janet looks great either way. And isn't it great to change things up from time to time. I love being a girl :) You have a great week!

RE Entrepod,
Yep, she has amazing cheekbones so she can wear any style. And hey I'm all in if it does the weight thing. LOL. Yeah, I'm thinking about it. Thanks for your kind words my dear :)

Ivanhoe,
I love your hairstyle. It really suits you. I definitely might have to take that leap again for a change of pace ;-) Hugs.

Viajera,
Let's go for it ;-) I'm sure your bf will love your new look!

Se'lah,
She is certainly beautiful :) Hope you're having a great week too and big hugs back to you :)

Simone,
See, you and I are on the same page. That's what I'm feeling, a need to let some things go and I feel it's time for me to shed this hair again :) I'm having a shift within.

I love the short wig idea. Every time I pass a wig shop I have to take a look around. I think my other personalities come out then. LOL.

Fitness Diva,
Didn't that 3 inches all over feel great? I've been remembering that feeling I had before lately and I think I need that experience again. And Diva, I know you had all the guys taking a look at you ;-) You Diva you!

Vixen,
Exactly...it is just freeing to go short once in a while :)

Duni,
Yes, she looks amazing! I've seen your photo on your blog once and I love your beautiful long hair :)
