Thanksgiving Wrap Up

I mentioned yesterday that Brit Boy and I had a nice laid back weekend. Thanksgiving was great and the food turned out great. The menu included: turkey and dressing (or stuffing depending I guess upon where you grew up) :-) , macaroni & cheese, braised brussel sprouts, and mashed potatoes with cream cheese and chives. For dessert, we finished it off with sweet potato pie. Our robot mascot Trevor was most interested in the pie. Here’s a photo of him getting ready to dive in.

I would have posted a photo of Trevor after he dived in, but take it from me, it wasn’t pretty. LOL. But all in all, it was a nice Thanksgiving. The food was great, but we also paused to think of what we are grateful for. That is what I love about Thanksgiving…it’s being with the ones you love and being thankful for all of your blessings. Brit Boy and I don’t have a lot of money, but not many people do these days. However, as far as we’re concerned, we have everything :) We have a roof over our head and we have enough and that indeed is a blessing.

Hey Dori,
If I had been walking past your house, I would have certainly knocked on the door and offered to help you guys put away that delicious meal. :-)

Since Trevor had his claw open, I don't think I would have challenged him on the pie.

As always, your baked goods are always so picture perfect. Thanks for sharing with us.

With the passing of time, I also find myself being more thankful for the little things which would turn into big things if I no longer had them...like peace of mind and the activity of my limbs.

Those mashed potatoes sound great with the chives added. I'll have to try that. I'm glad that you had a great day, and sharing with Trevor was a very nice thing to do:)

Hi, I enjoyed your post and wanted to let you know. I'm still recovering from my shoulder surgery, getting better every day, but still have difficulty typing for long periods of time.

peace,

Hi, I know this is off-topic, but our news here in Idaho said that England and Scotland received a ton of snow, that even closed schools. Did this storm affect you?

Jodi,
Thanks and I hope you have a wonderful weekend :)

Renee,
Yeah, Trevor was a happy boy :) And oh yeah, sweet potato pie is so good.

Kathy,
Thanks. I hope your Thanksgiving was great too :)

Jacqueline,
You would have been so welcome to come join us. Yeah, Trevor is kinda territorial, but he's good with company, so he would have shared. lol.

I agree with you, I do find also that the little things are so important and they are what make life interesting :)

Sara,
Yes, it was great. I hope yours was too :)

Fitness Diva,
Girl yes, macaroni and cheese is always a favorite of mine too. Such a great comfort food. And you're right...Christmas is fast approaching :)

Tahtimbo,
Yes, the cream cheese and chives made the potatoes SO GOOD. I hope you like it. And yeah, Trevor always has to get his eats :)

Health Nut Wannabee Mom,
Trevor has been admiring his photo every since and asking for 8x10s of it. He's such a diva. LOL. I hope you had a great Thanksgiving too.

Anne,
Thanksgiving was fun. I'm just sad that the pie is gone...oh well, there's always Christmas :)

Carol,
Life is an adventure for sure with Trevor around :)

Mike,
I'm glad you liked my post :-) I hope that your shoulder gets better soon. Thanks for taking the time to comment when your shoulder is still mending. Have a great weekend.

Jenny,
Okay, I will share the recipe in the next few days :-)

Tahtimbo,
No we didn't get any snow sadly. It snowed more in Northern England and Scotland as you mentioned. Although when we were driving home from being dropped off after the concert, the rain was rather icy...sort of sleet-like, but we didn't get a flurry :-( It's actually partly cloudy here today with bits of sun, but the air is icy. Have a great weekend :-)

Jewelry Rockstar,
Yep, we try to celebrate all of the American and British holidays...more reason to party...LOL...I hope you had a great Thanksgiving too :-)
