Visiting Bath Once Again
This past Saturday, my hubby and I took a trip to Bath. It's not too far away and we love visiting there when we get the chance. While we were there enjoying ourselves, we wondered why we don't visit more often. We've decided that we'll definitely be visiting more often and enjoying more of what that beautiful city has to offer :)
The photo above is one of my favorite views of Bath along the River Avon. It's so beautiful. A great deal of Bath is constructed out of Bath stone, which has that lovely honey-colored hue to it.
The photo below is from lunch...nachos!! ;-) Nachos are always a good idea in my book. Lol.
It was an overcast day for the most part, but it didn't matter because we had a fantastic time!
If you'd like to check out a few of my past posts about Bath, you can see them here and here.

London Here I Come!
This afternoon I'm heading to London for a bit of fun. I'll be back home tomorrow. It's a quick trip, but a quick trip is better than no trip ;-)
I'll share the details when I get back home and of course I'll share pics. If you've visited me here before you know I love taking photos...especially of random things, like the big blue cock that I saw in Trafalgar Square last year. Lol.
Have a great day and I'll be back to share what I see :-)
Until next time...

Adventures and Daydreaming
I have another picture to share today. I took this one a few days ago when I was having a walk further out in the countryside. The sky was so blue and the trees were so green. Notice the little white streak in the sky? Well that was the trail of an airplane passing overhead. I wonder where it was going? When I see an airplane passing overhead, I always wonder where the people are headed and what adventure awaits them. It's fun to daydream about that sometimes :-)

Dreaming of Future Vacations
Ever feel like you need a vacation? I know I do right now,
and Brit Boy and I were talking about just that over the weekend. Not that we
are actually going anywhere, but it’s nice to dream once in a while, don’t you
think?
One destination that came up during our conversation was
Canada. I have visited our neighbors to the north once before, but Brit Boy has
never been. I don’t suppose that we will be visiting there anytime soon since
flights to Canada from UK cities are about the same price as flights back home to
Georgia, and if we are going to spend that kind of money then I think I would
prefer a trip home right about now :)
Anyway, as I said, I have visited Canada once before, about
10 years ago now. I went with my sister and niece; driving up from Georgia
through half a dozen other states on our way to Toronto. It was an amazing
trip, watching the various landscapes, both rural and urban, pass us by on the
way. We went up there to see a concert, and drove all the way back again the very
next day, so you could say it was a fleeting visit! It was the ultimate road
trip!
I would love to go there again someday with Brit Boy and have
a proper visit. It would be great to see some more of the glorious scenery and
sights that such a huge country like Canada has to offer.
I have never been skiing before, though Brit Boy has, so
maybe a winter sports vacation would be in order. I’m told it is good fun! I do believe that it could be a great place
for us to visit together! I look forward
to visiting again one day :)

Olympics and Results

I feel very blessed to be going to the Olympics and also it will be fun to be in London again. It will be good to spend some time with Brit Boy and enjoy the summer...rain or shine.
I'll be taking a few pictures as I mentioned before, so I hope to have something interesting to share here :-) I'll do my best!
In other news, I got my exam results today and I passed both of my courses so I'm very pleased about that. I've been waiting for about six weeks for the results, but honestly I didn't worry about it. I just figured that what is done is done and I've put my thoughts elsewhere. I knew in my heart that I did the best that I could do at the moment in time when I took my exams, so I just let it go. I've been working on being more of this kind of person and I think that it's finally taking root :-) As I mentioned in my last post, I'm already doing some of my reading ahead of the new school year in the fall. It has been quite enjoyable and there's something about going through the reading list in the summer versus during the school year. I don't feel the pressure and I have the time to enjoy the books and not speed read because I have to write a paper about them. I'm enjoying having a summer break and giving my mind some rest from academic writing. Yay! ;-)
Well, I have some dishes to wash, so I'm gonna sign off. I hope that everyone is enjoying their summer!
Until next time...

Anniversaries and Royal Weddings
I wanted to give you a bit of a preview of what’s coming up in regards to our ongoing adventures here at the Yellow House. Well, we’re headed to London in about sixteen days and it promises to be very interesting! ;-) As many of you know, Prince William will be marrying Kate Middleton on April 29th, so London will be alive with activity for sure. But here’s the deal...they are getting married on me and Brit Boy’s 5th wedding anniversary! So it’ll be a double celebration in our eyes.
We had already planned and booked our trip to London for our anniversary and then we found out that the royal couple would be getting hitched on the 29th. So we figure that as long as we’re going to be in London anyway to celebrate our big day, we may as well see what we can see with the royal wedding. It should be fun and eventful to say the least! :-)
Brit Boy and I have seen several of the royals before. Check out my post here to go down the Yellow House memory lane. So to be honest, we’re not going just to catch a glimpse of a royal or two; we’re going to check things out to be part of the collective experience. Don’t get me wrong, it’s great to see them all and I’m not saying we’ve become jaded about seeing them or anything...far from it. Seeing them will be great. It’s just that to us it will be about sharing a collective experience with thousands of others and that should be cool. And it’s a part of history, so it will definitely be something to write in my memoirs one day ;-) Shared experiences like this are so rare these days due to so many things going on all the time at the same time. So it will be cool to share this moment with others.
And also, Brit Boy and I will just be enjoying hanging out together away from the crowds at some point and just enjoying our anniversary. Five years...who knew it would go so quickly?! :-)
Brit Boy and I will be sharing photos and such on both of our blogs. We hope we get some kind of photos of something and not so many of the backs of peoples’ heads. LOL. We shall see....anyway, watch this space and Brit Boy’s blog here to read all about our adventures!
The countdown to our adventure begins...

Back On This Side of the Pond
Hello there! :-) I just wanted to check in now that I'm back in the UK. I got back on Monday, but it's been a slow start for me. I'm feeling less jet lag today. And you all know how it is when you get back from a trip...it takes a few days to catch back up with your life, so that's what I'm doing :-)
I had a wonderful time back home in Georgia! I have more photos to share and some thoughts on my trip to share and I will be doing that this week. I was hoping to post again from Georgia in that last week, but we had a bout of technical difficulties with my sister's broadband so I just decided to wait and post from here.
I'm going through my photos today, so I hope to have a more vibrant post here in the next couple of days. Thanks for continuing to visit me and for always supporting me, you wonderful people :-) Have a great day and I'll be back with more to share.

Packed For Home and Ready To Go
So the time is drawing near for my trip. It's all very exciting :) I've sorted through my stacks of clothes over and over and have finally found my wardrobe for this trip home...a bit of this and a bit of that. Here's my final stack.

Here's my electronics stack. I've been rounding up all of my wires and adaptors for my various UK and US plugs. Some of my things were bought back home and some were bought here, so I travel with my adaptors wherever I go. I've got my ipod ready and my camera, so it's have electronics, will travel ;-)

And that's about it. I'm ready to go. I have my book and my music ready, so I'm good :-) Now bring on my nine hours plus flight!
As I mentioned in an earlier post, I will be doing something of a photo blog while I'm gone for these three weeks, so I hope that some of you will come by and see what I'm up to. I'm figuring that it may be a case of impressions rather than activities that I photograph, but you never know. At least it will give you an idea of how I'm taking the whole experience of being home. I'm really looking forward to this trip :-)
Well I will leave it here for now. I'll be checking in from the other side of the Atlantic in the next few days. Take care and I'll talk to you later! :-)

Packing and Some Pictures From Salisbury
Happy Friday everyone! :-) I'm still making my lists for my trip. I have started a series of stacks of clothes to take and I keep adding and subtracting from those stacks. I'm going to be back home for nearly three weeks, but I won't take that many outfits...lifting a suitcase like that would surely break my back ;-) So in order to spare my back I'm thinking strategically with the packing. Never fear. I'm pulling it all together :-)
Anyway, yesterday I took a break from thinking about my trip. Brit Boy and I went to Salisbury to do some errands and things. While we were there, we took advantage of the beautiful weather and wandered down to Salisbury Cathedral. It was wonderful. People were scattered around the lawn surrounding the cathedral, soaking up the sun and enjoying themselves. It was one of those perfectly sunny days that we don't get around here very much :-)
I snapped a few photos to let you all see the beautiful view from the cloisters, near the entrance to the cathedral. I love looking out through the lovely carvings up towards the spire. I hope you enjoy these photos!

Have a great weekend everyone! In my next post, I'll show you the chaos that is my packing ;-)

Some Moody Photos
On Tuesday, Brit Boy and I traveled to Salisbury once again and along the way, I took some photos as we rode along. It was a cloudy day with bits of sun here and there, so the light was very interesting. I love the way that the trees look with no leaves as they reach for the sky. I was in the mood to take some black and white photos. It sort of suited the day. Some are blurry, but I thought I'd share them anyway. I love how photographs catch a moment in time, so this is a series of photos of our time that day. It's mostly a photo essay of our path to Salisbury. I hope you enjoy it :-)
This photo above is really blurry, but I thought it was interesting that the raindrops stood out.

My Second Mini Cam Moment - Butterfly
We had a nice weekend around the Yellow House. The weather turned out okay too. Brit Boy has been on vacation this past week and he's off this week too, so we've been doing lots of hanging out. We're planning on taking a trip into London on Wednesday so we're looking forward to that.
On Saturday we had sunny weather and it brought the butterflies out. Here's a short video I filmed with my handy little retro mini cam. So this is the second in my mini cam moments series :-) We have a white and purple butterfly bush or buddleia as it's sometimes called, in our yard/garden and over the last few sunny days, we've been visited by various colorful butterflies. I looked it up and it seems that this is a peacock butterfly, but I'm not absolutely sure. It looks similar though. I'm hoping to get some better video on another sunny day. Butterflies don't hang about so it's hard to catch a good glimpse :-) Anyway, I wanted to share this mini cam moment with you all to let you see a bit of our summer. I did this video from inside whilst looking outside since I didn't have time to make it outside. The clanging sounds in the background are Brit Boy in the kitchen :-) I hope you enjoy this and I hope to get more when the sun shines and the butterflies return again. Have a great day!

Mini Cam Moments in Salisbury
Last Tuesday I went along with Brit Boy for an appointment he had in Salisbury. I’ve been meaning to share a bit about it, but I’ve been doing school work for the last few days and am now just getting caught up.
A few days before, I was looking around some stored things and found my mini video camera that I’ve had for years and never use anymore. The camera is very tiny and old school and makes funny little pixelated, jumpy movies. (smile) It gives the movies a zany quality that I like. We have a new video camera, but now that I’ve found this one again, I’m going to use it and make my funny little movies. (smile) So here’s my first video in my series. I’m calling my series “My Mini Cam Moments”. I’ll be doing them periodically and sharing them here. This video is a test of sorts that I did to see if it’s still working.
This is a short video of us driving into Salisbury with a view of lovely Salisbury Cathedral in the distance with a few groups of trees along the way. (laugh) Enjoy!
Also, I took a couple of photos of the flowers on display along the way here and there. The first one was taken along the road in Salisbury where I recorded the video.

This second photo is in a village along the way back home. I just thought that both flower displays were beautiful and so summery. I hope you enjoy seeing what I see when we’re out. (smile)

Well, that’s all for now. We won’t be going to Salisbury this week, but if we go anywhere good, I’ll certainly share it here. Happy August!
