Saturday - Easter Weekend

Happy Saturday!

 

Just checking in to share a couple of photos depicting a bit of Saturday around the Yellow House.

 

Hubby and I took a walk this morning and this lovely little yellow flower caught my eye...well of course it would...it goes along with the yellow theme around the Yellow House 😉

 

It's actually a dandelion flower I think, which is more of a weed to some, but it's still a lovely color yellow and a flower nonetheless. 

 

 

Lunch today was lovely and refreshing, especially on this Easter weekend. I made some delicious sandwiches for hubby and me. This was an off the cuff creation just using what was in the refrigerator. It turned out delicious!!! 

 

The ingredients for my Saturday sandwich:

• cucumber
• onion
• watercress/rocket (arugula) mixed greens
• olives
• cheese
• chili flavored hummus
• mayo
• brown bread

In a world with a lot of heaviness, we must make room for some of the simple joys of life also. So, here's to beautiful yellow flowers and delicious sandwiches!

Today, hubby and I took a lovely walk. It was good to get out into nature and it was good exercise. 

Seeing these beautiful hydrangeas was a great treat because I love the color blue and I love hydrangeas. I've read recently that in order to have blue hydrangeas, they must be cultivated to do so. Blue is my favorite color, as I've written about before. I'm always excited when I see blue flowers of some shade. 

I love all flowers, but my two favorites are peonies and hydrangeas, in that order. They are both so voluminous and gorgeous.

Last of the Summer Roses

I just wanted to share this pretty rose today. It is a surprise for sure since all of the other roses have long since stopped blooming. This beauty has the distinction of being the very last rose in the garden this season.

Daisies in July

We've been having an unusually warm and sunny summer so I'm soaking it all up while I can. Usually I don't have to change my wardrobe much from season to season, but this year I've had to break out the shorts! 😎

If you've visited me before, you know that I love taking pictures ...especially pictures depicting the beauty of the natural world. I took the picture above a little over a week ago when we were down in Bournemouth for the day. It's a beachy place, but there's also a nice park with pretty flowers. The flowers were so lovely, so I had to snap a picture or two to help me remember that beautiful, sunny day.
